The New Land Grain Corridor Group will create a land grain hub in Tatarstan
The company signed an agreement with the Republic of Tatarstan's government to build a specialized high-tech facility for high-speed transshipment of grain cargoes with a capacity of 8 million tons per year as part of the XV International Economic Forum "Russia - Islamic World: KazanForum."
The land grain hub will appear in close proximity to the largest international logistics complex named after Deng Xiaoping as part of the development of the Grain+ logistics model and the replication of overland railway transshipment technology for bulk cargo.
Today, there is a disparity in the Republic of Tatarstan: import cargo flows outnumber exports (70/30). The reason is high logistics costs, which are driven by a lack of access to "big water" and a geographic distance from large markets. The logistics model "Grain+" employs the "land grain fleet" of the NLGС Group of Companies, which provides 100% loading of railway vehicles in both directions, ensuring competitive logistics for the Republic. Specialized grain containers carrying grain cargoes will be shipped from the grain hub to the export destination, and consumer goods, automotive components, and other components for Republic of Tatarstan manufacturing enterprises will be delivered back in the same special containers. This will reduce empty mileage on railway vehicles and significantly improve logistics.
The cargo base is grain produced in the Republic of Tatarstan and the regions of the Volga Federal District, consolidated at the grain hub. The target supply markets are China, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran and other countries. Return shipments of up to 200,000 tons. TEU per year in special containers will be delivered to regional transport and logistics centers, with which the grain hub will work in technological conjunction and partnership. This will help the Republic realize its annual grain surplus of more than one million tons and create conditions for increased production.
